WHEN THE WORLD GOES TOPSY TURVY: #BeASlayer by Richard Oshen

You are powerful, not powerless. Now more than ever we are being asked to embrace our strengths and respond to the unknown with courage and faith—no fear. It’s your conscious choice. My friend, writer Richard Oshen, was contemplating what it means to be a slayer, and I wanted to share it with you. Please, let yourself be inspired.

Unless you’ve been living under a rock these past few weeks your life has been touched in some way by the outbreak of the COVID-19 Virus. The road has gotten very narrow for us all. That’s not a bad thing because when the road is narrow, choices are few. Out of this chaos, a new paradigm will emerge. The universe is sending a profound wakeup call. It’s tried before but we’ve been too busy to notice. “Can you hear me now?” It is saying like an impatient parent to an unruly child. The universe is sending us to our room for a planetary time out… and we deserve it.  As I see it we’ve been handed a golden opportunity to examine how we think about our world.

Our karma is the hand of cards we’ve been dealt. Our Dharma is how we play the cards.

Much has been written about the power of words. The western wisdom tradition states that the entire universe was called into being with three words, “Let there be…”  That tradition goes on in a later chapter to state the most powerful words ever uttered are words we use unconsciously every day. Those two words are: I AM. These words become a thought seed that when planted in our subconscious mind brings forth the fruit of our intentions into the world. Like itself which means plant a carrot – get  carrot not an apple nor a rhinoceros.  For better or worse, every thought become a thing and our words make them so.

Change your thinking – change your life.

Being a slayer, to me, means becoming strong like a ninja warrior. For starters, it is essential to protect my core being from negativity. Like a warrior, I train daily by infusing my mind with powerful slaying I AM affirmative statements. I do this in meditation and then repeat them throughout the day. I’ve found it especially beneficial to say my I AMs before sleep, and upon arising. Some of my favorites are:

I AM HEALTHY

I AM POWERFUL

I AM PROTECTED

I AM SAFE

I AM SECURE IN MY OWN BEING

I AM FREE OF EXTERNAL THOUGHTS

I AM THE POWERFUL PRESENCE IN MY LIFE

MY I AM PRESENCE GOVERNS PERFECTLY MY MIND, BODY, HOME AND WORLD

I AM statements, positive affirmations, and mantras are not idle whistling in the dark hoping the bogeyman goes away. On the contrary it is powerful stuff. Using potent I AM statements like the ones above, and new one’s you’ll create, will change your world.

The universe is giving us a very clear choice: Faith or fear.  I AM a Slayer. I live Faith! The moment I say I AM, I am setting powerful forces to work in my life but be careful—the same can be said for, “I am not.” I have made it my practice to be vigilant over my thoughts and strive to never let in any thought I would not wish to see manifest.

The universe sent us an invitation concealed in the darkness surrounding the COVID-19 Virus. To me it is a time to go forward in faith. A time to fall together lest we fall apart.
